Backlog detector in a crusher
The Challenge
In a swiss gravel plant, a backlog detector was needed for a crusher used to crush large rocks or other materials into smaller pieces. The sensor was intended to detect blockages or overloads that might disrupt the material flow within the system. The process conditions were very demanding ( heavy stones, dusty environments, and significant vibrations).
Our Solution
The angled version of the rotary paddle limit switch RN 3003 is perfectly suited for use as a backlog detector in crushers due to its extremely robust construction. The protective tube withstands high mechanical stress and also shields the paddle. The shaft seal prevents dust from entering the interior of the tube, ensuring a reliable and long-lasting measurement.
