CN7 in vegetable oil with foam

The Challenge

One of the largest animal feed producers in Ecuador, was looking for a solution to detect level in a 3 meters tank of palm oil with lots of foam, an important ingredient for the formation of the final product. Due to the foam, many vibrating fork sensors detected false signals, since the dense foam stuck to the vibrating probe.

Our Solution

We solved this case with capacitive level detector Capanivo series 7000, equipped with tip sensitive and inverse frequency shift measurement technologies. Equipped with a PPS probe, this sensor measures frequency variations, which have greater variations than the capacitance, for this reason it is able to measure the defined capacitance point more accurately. The customer after installing this unit was able to solve the problem and avoid the detection of foam and avoid problems of false alarms.
