Feed Hopper Control with RN3001

The Challenge

The customer recycles car tyres and breaks them down into their original components such as rubber, wire and canvas. They required a sensor which would indicate when the feed hopper was empty and stop the feed conveyors.

Our Solution

Using a RN3001 mounted at the lower end of the feed hopper this indicated when the switch was able to rotate, and that the hopper was empty. This stopped the conveyors feeding the plant and via an external light indicated to the operator that more product was required.
