Level limit measurement in wood chips at high temperatures

The Challenge

At the moment a Power Plant, in the region of Vitebsk, uses local fuel in order to replace imported gas. The fuel is a mixture of wood chips and turf. The power plant was built in 1930 and has been the first power generator in Belarus. The limit detection in the storage silo requested a reliable level control system. The modern plant also allows the process of circulating fluidized bed combustion.

Our Solution

The level control is fulfilled by the rotating paddle switch of series Rotonivo RN 3000. The sensors need to withstand high temperature and are designed with a special bearing and sealing. Also a motor with an increased turning moment belongs to the equipment. This prevents damages of the build-up resin. With this special construction a reliable function of the whole plant is guaranteed. The system is maintenance-free.
