Level measurement in a milk tank

The Challenge

A reliable level measurement was required for a milk tank. The wetted sensor parts should be suitable for contact with food. The agitator inside the tank should not interfere with the measurement.

Our Solution

For this application, the non-contact radar sensor NivoRadar NR 7200 was installed. The wetted parts are food-grade compliant (FDA, EC 1935/2004). A specialized software algorithm for stirred vessels enables reliable level measurement results. False readings caused by reflections from the agitator are thus eliminated.
