Manufactering of animal feed - Empty detection in a HTST treatment system (animal feed powder).

The Challenge

A customer from Ukraine was looking for a reliable empty detection for their HTST treatment system. High-temperature short-time (HTST) treatment is a process primarily used for the pre-treatment and conditioning of animal feed. Our customer needed to control blockages in this system. He required a sensor that would function reliably in the material to be steamed and be resistant to adhesions and the aggressiveness of the material to be measured.

Our Solution

The best solution was the Rotonivo RN 3004 rotary paddle switch with PTFE seals and stainless steel bearings. For optimal performance, reinforcement springs were also installed to cope with particularly heavy deposits. The sensor provides economical and reliable level detection for critical foods in animal feed production.
