NC8100 Cooling Tower Sump Level Measurement

The Challenge

One of the biggest steel plants in India was looking for a solution to measure the cooling water sump Level at their I-BF unit. The measurement is very critical due to presence of moisture with chemical mixture.  In the past, they have used ultrasonic level transmitter, but the performance was not up to the expected level. They asked UWT for a solution in this difficult application.

Our Solution

Our reliable capacitive level sensor NivoCapa NC 8100, 200°C with PFA coated rope version is the ideal solution for this application. The capacitive measuring technology offers a very fast measurement (<1s) and is not influenced by steam. The transmitter is showing pefect result even fast level of changes in presence of steam.
