NivoRadar in lime stone

The Challenge

A cement manufacturer needed to control the volume of a 10 meter lime silo. The application had a lot of dust in the process that makes the level measurement difficult. Also, the process temperature was about 100°C.

Our Solution

In this case the most suitable solution was the non-contact level transmitter, NivoRadar 3100 with 78Ghz frequency and very narrow beam angle of 4°degrees. The plastic lens antenna made of PEI and the high precision of 5mm together with the aiming flange and stainless steel housing were important to increase the efficiency of the process. Even with a lot of dust in the environment, the high power of NivoRadar ensured a constant and safe measurement.
