NR3100 in quarzsand

The Challenge

A leading manufacturer of paints in Germany was looking for a reliable level measurement for its special storage silos. The silos are divided into three and have additional deflector plates and a ladder mounted on the inner walls. This makes it particularly difficult for a level sensor to reliably record the entire measuring range. Various components for paint production are stored in bulk, including quartz sand.

Our Solution

The best solution for the narrow silos with internals is the Nivoradar NR3100. This high-frequency FMCW radar sensor has a beam angle of only 4° and can measure in these narrow silos as far as the discharge without problems with the internals. It is the optimal solution as a level sensor not only for quartz sand, but also for the other components for paint production.
