NR7200 in Resin Reactor
The Challenge
A major Brazilian engine manufacturer needed to control the resin level in its paint plant. The resin enters the reactor in solid state (24t) and is melted at 200ºC. The internal system has 2 stirring blades. During the process, there is a lot of foam formation generated by the release of water from the resin into the liquid phase. Due to the thermal cover and construction of the reactor, a solution was sought to measure without mechanical openings; the measurement should be made through the inspection window.
Our Solution
Our perfect solution for this case was the NivoRadar series 7200 range of radar level transmitters. This line of non-contact sensors with PVDF wetted parts, supports temperatures up to 80ºC together with a high accuracy of +-2mm and a response time of 3s, due to its high frequency of 80 GHz. It works in extreme measurement conditions and outdoor environments as it has IP68 rating. Through the UWTLevel App the solution can be configured easily, the combination with the scale function in liters allowed better monitoring of levels by operators. especially for this case, an insulating piece in PTFE was adapted, so that the application with the extremely hot surface can be done, and the measurement through the glass of the inspection window.
