NR 4100 in a Wheat Flour Mill

The Challenge

A renowned wheat flour mill in southern Brazil needed to modernize its industrial plant and measure 18 silos each 10 meters in height full of wheat flour. Due to the pneumatic transport system during the filling process, the dust cloud was intense and made partial level measurements impossible, as the worker was unable to measure manually.

Our Solution

Our ideal solution for this case was the NivoRadar 4000 series level transmitter. This very compact unit was developed for measuring in very dusty conditions, due to its 80 GHz technology and narrow beam angle of only 4º. The beam has an opening of only 70 cm over a 10 meter measuring range. The accuracy of +- 2 mm added to the possibility of linearization adjustments of the discharge cone made this transmitter a perfect solution.
