NR 7200 on the wooden conveyor belt

The Challenge

An important wood board manufacturing company in Chile needed to control the continuous level of the conveyor belt to improve the performance of its transport system. Due to the speed of movement of the material, the solution must measure reliably and quickly update the measurement signal. The goal was to avoid blockages in the conveyor system, which, if not addressed in time, could lead to significant downtime and operational delays.

Our Solution

Our perfect solution for this case was the NivoRadar series 7200 range of radar level transmitters. This line of non-contact sensors with PVDF wetted parts, supports temperatures up to 80ºC together with a high accuracy of +-2mm, a response time until 3s, due to its high frequency of 80 GHz. It works in extreme measurement conditions and outdoor environments as it has IP68 rating. Through the UWTLevel App the solution can be configured easily and with very fast updates due to its incredible update time, Avoiding downtime problems through accurate and agile monitoring of wood chip volume.
