Processing tomatoes - Full detection in a process hopper (tomato paste)

The Challenge

A food manufacturer in Honduras needed a level control system for tomato paste in a small process tank. The filling system has a height of 1.3 m and a process temperature of 96 °C. The task was to ensure reliable full level detection in this highly adhesive material. It was also important that the probe was suitable for the chemicals used in the CIP process and that it complied with hygiene standards.

Our Solution

The best solution for this case was our Vibranivo VN 7120 vibration limit switch with a 64 mm tube extension made of 316L stainless steel. The sensor is suitable for temperatures up to 150 °C and, thanks to its IO-Link electronics, can be easily customized for applications in the food industry.
