Backlog detector in a gravel plant (pre-sorting process)

The Challenge

In a swiss gravel plant, a backlog detector was required for the pre-sorting of gravel and other materials. The sensor was intended to detect blockages or overloads that could disrupt the material flow within the system. A significant challenge was the high mechanical stress caused by the material flow. Additionally, the stones varied in size.

Our Solution

The rope version of the rotary paddle limit switch Rotonivo RN 3002 could address this application. The flexible rope extension reduces mechanical stress on the sensor, while the paddle reliably detects stones of varying sizes.
