Biofuel production – Level measurement in a bypass (water).
The Challenge
A major biofuel refinery in Paraguay was looking for a suitable level measurement technology. The liquid to be measured was water that had condensed in a 3 m long bypass pipe with a diameter of 3 inches in the condensate recovery process of the distillation tower. The maximum temperature was 60 °C, and the accuracy of the process was very important.
Our Solution
Our ideal solution for this case was the guided radar NivoGuide 8100. The stainless steel level probe is 3000 mm long. With a rod diameter of 8 mm and a measurement accuracy of +-2 mm with fast response time, it is perfect for bypass applications. The sensor offers a very user-friendly configuration system with 2-wire technology and HART communication.
