Our mechatronics trainee Axel presented us his latest project: The "hot wire"! The aim of the game is to guide the metal rod, without touching it and as fast as possible, from left to right, through the UWT logo lasered into a stainless steel sheet (the green light signals the start of the trial, the red one a contact).
Due to the integration of a "Siemens LOGO!" the device is programmable, which even makes different game modes possible.
Two game modes are available for selection:
"Classic" mode: The goal here is to guide the metal rod through the UWT logo, without time pressure. However, any contact with the edges of the logo, will incur three penalty seconds, which requires a steady hand.
"Challenge" Mode: For those looking for a challenge, this mode offers the ultimate test. Within a mere 10 seconds, the rod must cross the logo, without touching the edges of the logo once. Speed, concentration and precision are required here to pass the challenge.
Thanks to Axel for this great game of skill, this was already the hit at our booth at the festival week and will surely be at our summer festival as well!
