Coal Screen Blockage Indication

The Challenge

Ratcliffe power station installed new coal screens for the turbine boilers. Within the feed chutes below the screens vibrating fork blockage indicators were installed which were becoming covered in coal slurry which then dried on the walls of the chutes and covering the vibrating rods and giving false indication.

Our Solution

UWT installed RN 3004 paddle switches with Teflon seals which allowed the build up around the shaft with out interferring with the operation of the switch.
