Limit switch in biomass fuel additive

The Challenge

A plant builder in the bulk industry was building a pneumatic transfer system to convey a deposit inhibiting additive to biomass fuel in a small power plant. The customer needed to include a high-level switch to indicate when the dosing hopper had reached the correct level to allow it to be discharged into the boiler. The challenges were that the particle size varied from 5µ to 100µ and with limited space the flow of product would be directed over the level switch.

Our Solution

In this application the customer is using the UWT Capanivo CN 4030 with a sliding sleeve. So he was able to adjust the switching point and by reducing the sensitivity the Capanivo worked well within the flow of product. The combination of a stainless steel shaft and GRP housing & probe also assisted as the product was slightly acidic.
