NB4200 in cement storage

The Challenge

A cement plant in southern Chile needed to measure the cement level in a 10 m high silo with a 1,5 m long silo socket. The solution should be reliable and able to measure even in an environment with a lot of dust. The system must be reliable in such a way that it does not lose the signal due to the installation pipe or even be disturbed.

Our Solution

Our best solution was the Nivobob serie 4200 tape version able to measure 15 meters and with tape cleaner system integrated. It is a robust system able to work many years without any maintenance. The high precision of 1,5% of the measure range fits to the necessity to install the sensor in this process connection. Due to its simple surface contact technology, it does not suffer any interference from other metallic elements.
