NR 3100 in liquid steel

The Challenge

A german steel company has the challenge to measure the level in liquid steel. The sensor should be mounted above torpedo cars. The steel has a temperature of more than 2732°F (1500°C). The sensor has to be mounted at a place, where it can work properly and will not be damaged by the temperature.

Our Solution

The solution is the radar technology. With the sensor NivoRadar NR 3100 the liquid steel can be measured in a certain distance and protected by the high temperatures. Reliable and maintenance free.
