RFnivo in coal for blockage level indicator

The Challenge

A coal fired power plant in Spain has to control blockage level in 12 hoppers of the conveyor belt with constant filling of 10-20mm stones of coal in a hazardous area. Therefore, it was important for the measurement technology to operate reliably in a dusty environment and works with the punches of stones.

Our Solution

The capacitive level limit switch RFnivo RF 3100 series has satisfied all the special requirements for the application. It was a extremely robust stainless steel cable extension, for that reason, easily adjustable for every container. The solution with flexible stainless steel cable was very adequate to work with the filling of stones of coal. The housing is built to IP67 safety standard as well as the ATEX approval thus making the RFnivo a perfect solution for this application.
