RN 3004 in diatomite for hopper control

The Challenge

One of our customers in Costa Rica needs to control a conveyor belt system responsible for carries diatomite in rocks and powder into a hopper. The abrasion and dusty environment was a big challenge together with the quick material filling constantly, which requires a reliable response from the limit switch sensor.

Our Solution

In this case the most suitable solution is the Rotonivo series RN 3004 with special PTFE sealing and 150mm length. The process extension construction made of stainless steel pipe is very robust to resist abrasion of the rocks and the very tight sealing avoids the ingress of any dust inside the probe. Due to the high sensitivity and the 1 rpm motor rotation the sensor could quickly detects the material and provided safe alarm.
