NB 4 for wood chips in intermediate silo

The Challenge

One of the world's largest manufacturers of wooden boards needs to control the content of wood chips in an intermediate silo with a height of 10m. Due to precision necessity the measure point is close to the screw conveyor, the environment is dusty and with condensation. Another aspect is that the measurements are made manually, the staff are put at risk.

Our Solution

Our solution in this case was the NivoBob 4200 series with 15 meters measure tape and integrated tape cleaner able to works with very dusty environment. Due to the simple mechanical measurement principle it can works without any interference of condensation or from the process itself and has a trustable exact measurement point. This solution was installed in many silos in the plant and has also the personal risk reduced.
