NivoRadar in calcium carbonate

The Challenge

One of the largest glass manufacturers in the world, needed for one of its plants in Colombia a reliable solution to measure in the 4 meter storage silo the level of calcium carbonate The environment is very dusty and harsh.

Our Solution

In this case the most suitable solution was the non-contact level transmitter, NivoRadar 3100 with 78Ghz frequency and signal update of about 10 seconds. The plastic lens antenna made of PEI and the high precision of 5mm together with Stainless Steel 304 flange and stainless steel housing were important to increase the efficiency of the process. Even with a lot of dust dense to the environment, the high power of the NivoRadar sensor ensured a constant and safe measurement.
