NivoRadar in Molybdenum

The Challenge

A manufacturer of molybdenum in Chile was looking for a reliable solution to measure a 5,5 meter high silo through a 200mm pipe neck. The very light and low dielectric powder material makes the level measurement very difficult. High accuracy was very important to decide the technology.

Our Solution

In this case the most suitable solution was the non-contact level transmitter, NivoRadar 3100 with 78Ghz frequency and very narrow beam angle of 4°degrees. The plastic lens antenna made of PEI and the high precision of 5mm together with adjustable flange and stainless steel housing were important to increase the efficiency of the process. Even with a lot of fine dust in the environment, the high power of NivoRadar ensured a constant and safe measurement. It measures reliable from a dk value of 1,6.
