NR 7200 in the lubricating oil reservoir of a press and milling machine

The Challenge

For monitoring the lubricating oil level in a reservoir of a press and milling machine used by a major Chilean wooden board manufacturer, a highly accurate solution was required. The oil operates at 60°C and is housed in a 790 mm tank with a maximum capacity of 1968 liters. Additionally, the solution needed to be compatible with a 1" process connection.

Our Solution

The optimal solution for this application was the non-contact radar sensor NivoRadar NR 7200. This sensor accurately detects the level of oils up to a temperature of 80°C reliably and precisely. Using the UWT LevelApp, the sensor can be quickly configured for the specific application. Additionally, the scaling function enables the user to monitor the tank content in liters.
