RN 4001 in wood chips

The Challenge

A power plant in Ukraine needed a sensor as a full detector for a small storage tank with wood chips. The chips are used as fuel for the oven. The sensor should be simple and reliable. The conditions in the application were with high humidity and caking. Thus, not every measuring principle could be used here.

Our Solution

The solution in this application was a rotary paddle switch RN 4001. This measurement principle works permanently in this application without interference, because it is insensitive to dust, caking, humidity and large grain sizes. The RN 4001 is also still very inexpensive.
