Calcium Carbonate Storage

The Challenge

The customer has five calcium carbonate storage silos which has high and low level switches however no continuous monitoring. He required a method to monitor the contents within the silos to allow them to better understand the stock levels and when a bulk delivery could be required.

Our Solution

Using the NR 3100 with the NT 4600 the operators were able to know when they needed to change the feed silo and to know when to arrange a bulk delivery. The main challenge was the amount of dust within the silo. Thanks to the high-frequency radar technology, a very good reflection is achieved even in this dusty application and a permanently reliable measurement is guaranteed. The fill level can be easily read on the touch panel. Up to 15 silos are shown on it. The view can be configured as required and volume calculated.
