.

I will soon be in my second year of training and I am still very glad that I decided to become an industrial clerk. In my first year, I already got to know many departments, such as Purchasing, Shipping and Sales. I was also able to work in assembly and the warehouse right from the start to see how our appliances are built and shipped. I am particularly motivated by the prospect of working abroad in Malta. Our second production facility is located on this island. It's exciting to see how international UWT is and how close the exchange with colleagues in Malta is.

Training as an industrial clerk
My first day of training was a few years ago, but I still remember it well. I was given a tour of the company and gained my first insights. I immediately noticed the friendly atmosphere. The focus here is on 'WE', which is encouraged by the family atmosphere. I would choose to train as a cutting machine operator again at any time, as the combination of manual work and working with different machines and production techniques is very varied. Once a year, the management invites us to a trainee dinner. We trainees get to decide where to go. In a relaxed atmosphere, we talk more about private matters than business on this evening. It's exciting to hear how it all started with the bosses.

Training as a cutting machine operator
I have been an apprentice at UWT since September 2022 and am learning the profession of mechatronics technician. I particularly like the mix of mechanical and electrical tasks. The vocational school is in Kempten and takes place as a block school. This is where I learn all the theoretical content for my apprenticeship. I particularly like the fact that good academic performance is rewarded at UWT. Depending on our annual report card from the vocational school, we receive a corresponding grade bonus on top every month. This naturally motivates me to give my best. I have a fixed weekly appointment with my trainer, where we discuss the current status of my training and the report booklet. He also always has an open ear for my questions and concerns. This shows that we are highly valued as trainees and that the company cares about us.

Before I started my training as a warehouse logistics specialist, I completed an internship at UWT. After that, I knew I wanted to start my apprenticeship there. What I particularly like is the combination of commercial activities, planning tasks and physical work. You are allowed to work independently on individual tasks and take on responsibility quite early on. Of course, you are never alone and can still decide for yourself when you need support. During the lunch break, we usually meet up in the canteen to play table football or table tennis.
