Level measurement in storage silo with titanium dioxide

The Challenge

A major German manufacturer of plastic roofing membranes for the waterproofing of lightweight roofs in industrial and commercial buildings required a reliable level measurement system for its outdoor silos. These silos store titanium dioxide, which is used in the production of the plastic roofing membranes as a pigment and UV stabilizer.

Our Solution

In this application, the non-contact radar sensor NivoRadar NR 3300 was installed. It measures the level accurately and reliably, unaffected by dust. In addition, the integrated air purge can remove material build-up on the lens antenna. This further increases measurement reliability and ensures stable measurement results.
