NR 7100 with RN 3 in rice packaging system

The Challenge

A large rice producer in the Dominican Republic had manual level controls and needed to automate the measurement of their rice packaging system. In total, they had 7 silos that were 6.5 meters high and 2 meters in diameter. They also wanted low-level control on the silo discharge cone to ensure that the batch was packed completely.

Our Solution

Our perfect solution for this case was the NivoRadar 7100 range of radar level transmitters. This line of non-contact sensors with PVDF wetted parts, supports temperatures up to 60ºC together with a high accuracy of +-5mm and a response time of 3s, even in a very dusty environment with rice, the measurements were accurate, due to its high frequency of 80 GHz. It works in extreme measurement conditions and outdoor environments as it has IP68 rating. Together with the Rotonivo 3000 series low level switch for the discharge cone, it provided the ideal solution for this case.
